Current focus
Reliable playtest baseline
Development priorities
- Confirm Steam launch and the current packaged playtest build.
- Measure frame times, memory, loading and long-session stability.
- Set graphics defaults and supported hardware targets from real tests.
Completion criteria
Steam launch succeeds on the agreed test machines; a 60-minute mixed session and a 15-minute stationary session complete without a reproducible freeze or recurring once-per-second hitch; memory behavior is measured and unexplained sustained growth is investigated. Aim for smooth 60 FPS on the selected reference PC, with explicit settings and frame-time results.
Research & experiments
AI-assisted building generation, player analytics, Azure-hosted services and adaptive NPC behavior are experiments. Adoption depends on measured value, performance and cost, and must not delay combat or stability work.
Outside the current scope
Mobile development, shared persistent online characters, dedicated-server scaling and production AI/ML services need separate scope decisions. The day/night cycle follows the daytime lighting benchmark.
How progress is verified
Work is complete only when its acceptance criteria pass in the build players receive. Focused playtests and technical evidence guide each milestone; updates distinguish delivered changes from experiments and plans.
